Twist And Go

This is not even a joke.

More and more cats are riding. I mean, there are 5 of us @ work. Friend of mine The Gardner came to surprise me @ my house with her brand new scooter and I just had a long chat with CB who revealed to me that she's got her M2 permit. Sick.

It's fun to see more ppl riding. Living in QB and having all/most of my dealings in the downtown core, it made absolute sense for me. Then, the oil speculators showed up to the party and welcomed all to the $100 fill up. ;). Now that's all ppl ask me: how much to fill up??

I'm just about to round the 8000 kms mark on my Derbi Bullet. It's been fun. But in a quick, random and periodic search, I found hella deals online. There's been no better time to get on 2 wheels. A Buell Blast for under $4k?? Say wrd.

That's for the person who stole my prized piece of head gear: my full face helmet. For 2 yrs, no one bothered with it. Now, I come out around 5am to find that's it's been jacked. Oh well. I'll wait till the end of the season to grab one. I have 2 extras for now. I'll also take a good look in EU in oct for one. They have some sick ones out there... so many riders. HA.

As well, a quick shout out to the TMSC who had the Monster Scooter Rally 08 just about 1 week ago. We get together 1nce a year and go a monster ride. Click for bigger shot.

Or is that back shot when someone rides from behind?? Anyhow, wanna give a shout out to NR who was the very 1st beneficiary and donee of my newest acquisition: a new helmet and cargo net. As such, she got to ride to her destination, as I will now likely be carrying a 2nd w/ me most of the time. ;)

That's the feeling @ times. Though, the plunge into the sea will not be planned @ all. So, with the sun shining, you know how I get. I start to bug out....

It's all in fun. This is the long weekend.

Enough about the sun already! But I can't. It makes me want to get up and work outside with my BlkBook & ride all day - I plan on doing both actually. Speaking of riding, I know many of you know but to confirm, and I am an official scooter rider. Not a Vespa - though they are now synonymous. Vespa makes scooters, but not all scooters are Vespas. Just an FYI. Mine? it's a Derbi. A Spanish brand. I'm riding on Tom Bradys. Introducing the Derbi Bullet.

I love it. You can tell by the way I zip around town. What do you know about 5L to fill up?? Getting almost 175+ kms to a tank? You a gas miser? Do the math. This is a win win. This could be you too ;). Today's Globe & Mail has a story on Scooters in Canada.
Evidently, "the guy on the Vespa gets the girl" as per the CDN Scooter president. I sure hope so, as I have yet to enjoy the nectar of said fruit. But what about the female rider? In anycase, why did I get one? I was out in EU the last few years and was just floored @ the scooter culture out there. Driving in Toronto, esp dwntwn, is synonymous to congestion @ this point. Ask me about sunny days in QB. Bananas. Oh yea, free parking. Hold that. The permit? A mulitple choice questionnaire. Anyhow, I can park this thing virtually anywhere. I can go on and on about the advantagees, and in fact I get stopped to talk about it all the time. But enough qwerty - Just come for a ride next time, or ask the Child sisters about it.
